lesson learnt - 10 yrs too late

hmmm...
today i befriended a teacher
she even calls me to look for her as often as possible
or if she's bored she'll come look for me
she's a really nice teacher
but it was all so weird to me
I was just not used to people being nice to me
reason being, since i was in primary..
I was always hated/disliked by my teacher
cause there was always someone else kissing up to the teacher
and i've never gotten things that i deserved just because i don't act like a teacher's pet
-
so right...
if you want ur kids to be great 'leaders' one day,
tell them to suck up to the teacher...
most of the people i know now who did ended up being councillors and school captains bunch
-

now im finally in PTE - away from my usual bunch like ben, kuen, fah etc
and as cliche as this may sound,
its finally time for me to stand on my own two feet and stop relying on others

summary of 2008

2008 is coming to an end and the title says it all

Well, I had a lot of resolutions this year however I only managed to do one of them

My resolution : get at least one trophy or medal before leaving St Andrew's School
I joined the pentathlon just to try my luck
I actually seriously thought that we were 100% gonna lose but jokes on me.
We were the Champion!!!
Ironic enough that our team is called 'GodLike'
Lame but yea..
all i got was a really crappy medal with no necklace but what they hey
I GOT A FRIGGIN' GOLD MEDAL!! =p
-
I officially started this blog on the 23rd on August.
I actually had one a while ago but I kept shutting it down after 2 months cause my life was....

DRAMA-LESS

So now, got alot more la

and plus I have alot of thoughts that I need to let out.

(don't tell me go talk to my friends cz these thoughts come abt in the midle of the night)

-
I've met a number of people this year (friends or not)
I joined Wu Shu/Kung Fu taught by a master from China
Since he doesnt have the time to teach all of us individually,
he assigned one of his students to teach us(ben, kuen and me) the basics.

Nen Yaw aka Xiao Shi Fu

=p

-

Another person I befriended from wu shu is

Ah Liang

(who, i've found out later on, is also my distant uncle)
-

I met Sunny, our dance instructor, when I participated in

the Cultural Chinese Dance for our school's Golden Jubilee

even our childhood friend

Dann Kenn aka Mr. Bakatuki

dropped by from KK for just a day just to see us

We've all grown a lot since we last met-

-

Marshall aka 'Shawn's friend' is someone I met on the 20th on November.

wait, scratch that. I met him way before that,

we only started talking on the 20th of Nov.

However, due to some problems, we are no longer speaking

Eventhough our friendship was short, he has made a great impact on my life.

-

Then there was China....

This is

Xiao Lei - our tour guide

-

and

the Yong family

And also due to some problems, I can't talk to them

well only one of them actually

-

speaking of friends,

this year is also the first time

I pounded my right fist into the wall

(four times to be exact)

My knuckles swelled and turned blue black

and couldn't lift a pen properly for about 2 weeks

so smart right??LOL

(I was angry about something)

-

I'm definitely no stranger when it comes to falling in and out of love

We've spent 6 months together and it was good while it lasted

I hope you'll find someone better than me in everyway and that she'll make you happy =)

-

This year was the first time I've gone overseas with just my friends. We went to singapore.

Although it was under school, we had a blast ^^

Its no surprise that we went to the Singapore Zoo

I saw a polar bear!!

-

And the most beautiful and majestic creature aside from their usual orange and black are

White Tigers

My condolences to the family of the man who got killed by one of these tigers

-

I even got touch a wallaby

-

Back in Brunei, during the school's funfair,

I got to carry a living, breathing python on my shoulder.

If i'm not mistaken, this python weighs about 60kgs

(the snake wrangler's cute too =p)

-

Reptiles have always fascinated me to the point where I just had to try

SCORPIONS!

-

While we're talking about food,

I've said it before that I tried this drink in China

Well its something new that I've done this year so i post la

-

Anyway, our school has offered us this unbelievale chance

to attend a course on Public Speaking for FREE by HSBC

yes, i repeat,

FREE!!!!

I still remember waking up every Friday morning just to go back to school

We were told to write speeches.

1st topic was on myself -

It was especially hard cause how do you write about yourself and not make it sound like some 8 years old wrote it and not make yourself sound too cocky??

and 2nd was on anything topic we wanted -

the only hard thing was choosing a topic,

I chose Animal Cruelty.

This was a fun speech to do cause I managed to get everyone who was there listening to get involve

and I got to see the disgust in their face when I went into detail of how animals were killed

(it means they were listening ba)

and after each speech we made, we were given an evaluation on how our speech went

i trembled and stuttered alot but surprisingly they thought I was pretty good

-

it was a great experience and i'll never forget it

The three in the middle are our guides

Amy, Rozana and Elizabeth

-

Right before our O level Examinations, we were invited

to Miss Tay(our physics teacher)'s wedding

It was the first time I got to be one of those girls who stand and block the groom from seeing his future wife until he did every disgusting we told him do.

It was extremely funny AND fun

Click here to read the stuff the groom had to do just to see his bride (just scroll all the way down)

-

I finally got to attend prom eventhough it wasnt very fun, its still an event to remember

I spent

$80 on the dress,

$70 on hair and make up,

$40 on the ticket

$30 on shoes

$20 on mani and pedi and

$10+ on the clutch

total = about $250.

WOW!! THATS ALOT!!!! T^T

I wish prom lasted a little longer though

-

then I 'attended' my first sleepover ever in my whole entire life and thank god it was at

THE EMPIRE HOTEL!!!

I remember getting sunburnt pretty badly

T.T

had a free scuba dving lesson

and played twister for the first time

I know how wrong this looks but it happens at every game ok~ =.=''

-

And last but not least, I get to spend New Year's Eve with friends for the first time

xD

I usually spend it alone...

smiiiiilleeeee =)

saying that i'm happy when i'm not

saying that i'm ok when i'm clearly not
-
saying congratultions to people i'm shouldn't
-
dreaming and wishing and hoping for the impossible
-
smiling when all i wanna do is cry

clenching my jaws just to hold my tears in
-
driving myself busy just so that i wont think about it
-
too busy keeping myself occupied to feel the need to sleep
-
too busy keeping myself occupied to even eat
-
and making my real tears as a joke
but of course,
i AM a JOKE!!
-
then come to think of it
isn't there a phrase that says
-
'Smile and the whole world smiles with you,
Cry and you cry alone."
-
so I wanna be a plain jane,
I wanna be like everyone else
and
I want people to stop bugging me with the same irritating question,
-

"are you ok?"
-
can't you bloody see that i'm clearly not??!!
-
So yea.

Just
SMILE
and pretend that nothing ever happened
-
-
-
-

-when I can feel it eating my insides and out
when you're torn and in tears
a knight in shining armour
comes and sweeps you off your feet
and carries you into the sunset

does it make it okay to fall in love again
after you've been hurt so badly
does it make it okay???

realization

i'm currently blogging this at Ben's house when I've finally realized and accepted that the idea of a perfect guy is impossible to find
In life you have to accept everything at second best whether you want to or not
everyone posses qualities you like and dislike but the imperfections are what makes us human

my quest

As ambitious I may sound,
I have this extremely long list that I hope to
or is still considering to do in the future

1. Vanity
Of course we all want something for ourselves
considering the fact that we are being bombarded
with advertisements and media on how important looks can be.

I might actually consider going under the knife (as in plastic surgery)
Please don't tell me that looks are not important
and that we should be grateful for what we're born with
Technology is so improved and advanced so why not make use of it??
I would only change minor problems that bother only me
-------------------------------------------------------------
I was inspired by Rihanna's music video, Disturbia
I love the darkness(emo-ness) and scariness of everything in the video
so I thought that getting a photo shoot with that theme would be so awesome
When else can you dress that way except during Halloween??
-------------------------------------------------------------
Tattoos has intrigued me ever since I watched Miami ink
They can be used to symbolize a chapter in your life
and it doesn't have to extravagant
A small intricate design is enough
If I was to get one,
I want it on my ankle or tailbone
_____________________________________________________________
2. Future
Here are the few things that I would WANT to do

I want to know what its like to live in a busy city
Which means a country with four seasons please
=D
It would be a nice experience
to know what the outside world is like
-------------------------------------------------------------
If I was to own my very own house
I want to be the sole designer of it
I don't want triangle roofs
I want HUGE spacious windows
and I'm not gonna reveal any more of my design ideas =p
-------------------------------------------------------------
I want to be able to do at least
one complete and proper cartwheel or somersault
-------------------------------------------------------------
In addition to that
I want to learn how to dance
I know it sounds so unlike me
but it'll be pretty cool to know how to move your feet
DDR is not counted!!
-------------------------------------------------------------
I want to learn how to skateboard
I had my chance to choose between
skateboarding and roller-blading
And what I chose is obvious now isn't it?
-------------------------------------------------------------
The first time I saw bungee jumping was when I went to New Zealand
I was 6 at the time
I have always been a crazy kid
& wanted to try but was underage
(obviously)
-------------------------------------------------------------
Sky diving
You get that few minutes of bliss and rush
It's literally being like a falling angel even if it lasts only 5-10 minutes
-------------------------------------------------------------
I first went boating also in New Zealand
Unfortunately, for the safety of the 'children'
we weren't allowed to go to the rapids
I wasn't even allowed to hold the freaking oars
-------------------------------------------------------------
I want to see actual wild dolphins or whales
Even if all you see is, them jumping out of the water
I think I would receive great satisfaction of seeing something so amazing
_____________________________________________________________
3.
I want to own a no kill animal shelter
I'm aware of the expenses and work needed to be put into for these places
But I'm so sick of seeing dogs or cats
Getting ran over by cars and poisoned by the garbage man
-------------------------------------------------------------
How about opening up a recycling plant in Brunei?
Trash is being dumped and piled up at Sg. Akar and soon at Subok
It's disgusting!!!!
We have recycling bins all over the schools and public places but for what?
We don't even have a freaking recycling plant.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Another less messy, smelly and busy alternative is to
open up a shop selling recycled products
I don't mean like Body shop
Sort of like an arts and handicraft centre
Hopefully it would encourage people to recycle

___________________________________________________

Just to let you know, I'm not into money.
My list still feels pretty empty
and I'm sure that there's more
but I can't think of anymore right now
I'll let you know when it comes up
=)
