new cookie cutters!!

I got 4 new cookie cutters not long ago from first emporium

all for $1.40 so its like about 30c for one

and i decided to use them by making sugar cookies!! =p

sugar doesnt burn in the oven O.o
you put some water of the dough and then you sprinke sugar on top

cookies anyone?? =p

Here's the recipe if any of you would like to try

-

(A)

160g of butter

70g of icing sugar

(B)

1/4 teaspoon of vanilla essence

1 egg yolk

Zest of 1 lemon, finely grated

(C)

250g of plain flour

1/4 teaspoon of baking powder

1/2 teaspoon of milk

-

Mix (A) in a bowl until well blended.

Then add (B) and cream lightly until smooth.

Add in sieved (C) into the bowl and mix until dough is formed.

Roll the dough to about 5mm to 1cm thickness and cut it with desired shape.

Place it on a greased pan, brush the surface with water and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake at 175 degrees Celcius for 15-20 minutes

NOTE: keep a close eye on it as it burns easily

The recipe for the cookies itself isn't sweet.

so the sweetness is actually suppose to come from the sprinkled sugar

Sushi making at Japanese Club

We were told to bring our own...utensils

The rice, filling, dried seaweed and etc will be provided.

We needed:

1. sushi bamboo mat
2. bottle of water (actually just bring one bottle for like the whole class already can)
3. bowl
4. container
5. apron
6. knife
7. chopsticks
8. spoon
9. digital camera (this is up to you la)

Bored while waiting for the rice to cook

if you lazy to use the bamboo mat to wrap sushi

buy those plastic containers that readily wrap ur sushi

just by closing the lid

I mainly use wood chopsticks but I thought it was unhygienic

And plus I brought an extra for a friend

So its better to use metal ones

Finally the rice was done

but we were given a really skimpy proportion

She was showing us how much to mix the 'white powder' with the rice

You can buy those packets ones (which they used)

Or you can just use vinegar, salt and sugar

(which I use this cause it seems less artificial)

Just equal amounts of each, mix and taste test.

They were teaching us to make Tamago make (egg sushi)

Ingredients to make tamago:

1. 1 egg
2. 1/4 teaspoon of salt
3. 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
4. 1 teaspoon of plain flour

Just mix everything and fry it.

After that, we proceeded with trying to make ours.

This was just just rolling up plain rice

and putting canned tuna on the top

to mold the rice takes months or maybe years to master

He needs to start eating better wa like seriously

Just got back form Miri

I visited my grandmother who was at the kidney dialysis centre

and my grandfather was accompanying her.

I hate going there cause I can't stand the smell of blood

Its so overpowering.

I think the machine's freaky though cause like surely go someone with some fucked up machine or someone who didn't place the tubing correctly

the alarm will go off really loud like a ticking time bomb if air was in the tube

For those who don't know, air in the blood stream will kill you.

Also, today my three meals were noodles!!
breakfast was noodles at my house
lunch was flat noodles in miri
and dinner was kuey teow
so full and so fattening >.<

I got my specs fixed and adjusted!! whee!! xD

So now its the same degree as my contact lenses and I was told to wear them for a day or two

to avoid the 'jump'.

Meaning that even though the degrees are the same, wearing it cause a different affect.

Its like a 'jump' if I switch from contacts to specs.

cause teacher asked us to write the first paragraph to test our essay writing skills
the topic was
"What diseases are prevelant in your part of the world and what are the ways to combat it?"
Then form a group and like choose the best one and write it on the OHP paper.
Well my group people were like stuck and they only wrote half so they just took mine
=.=
Then teacher started going round taking people's OHP paper and correcting their errors infront of the whole class and the more he went on, the worser his agonizing got O.0
I was getting paranoid and worried about the remarks he might give to mine.
But like teacher forgot out group so biartah..
The bell rang and as he was collecting back the marker pens, he realized he missed out our group and just decided to correct the errors just for us
After reading it he suddenly shouted,

"YES! Thats perfect! no mistakes whatsoever!"

like omg O.o
He asked everyone to sit down then he started saying,

"There's a group at the back that I forgot about which did it perfectly!"

and started showing it everyone on the OHP

a few days ago as i was jogging, a guy in a car waved hi to me. it took me a while to respont cause i thought maybe its someone i know from school. soon i forgot about it.

I had a chem test today. Fortunately my first period was a personal study block.
Unfortunately, I was so worried about my chem test(which is the 3rd period) that I skipped my GP class just so that I could study. And besides,its not like i missed anything important. Its just cutting articles and sticking it into the scrapbook. what joy~ =.=
Eventhough after all that, the amount of confidence I have at getting at least a Grade C for the test is about as much confidence as an awkward geek going through puberty.

Well either way, I'm glad that its over done with. I was just never very interested in science.
In other words, I regret not dropping it when I had the chance. Even in my previous test report, my teacher wrote that I lack enthusiasm for the subject and it shows in my grades-which is true to the dot.

At the last 15 minutes, we had a very belated ice breaker. We've changed teacher thrice already. So our current teacher is Michael Yapp who taught a few of us in St Andrew's before in form 5 for Physics.

Ok, so we were told ot sit in a circle like so...

and we call out the number 1,2,3 and repeat again 1,2,3 until everyone has a number.

Group 1 is mango, Group 2 is mangosteen and Group 3, which I was in, is apple.

Then someone stands in the centre and say the mango, mangosteen,apple or fruit basket which is rojak la meaning everyone. The people in that group have to stand up and switch seats. The ones who didn't get a seat have to stand in the middle. I kena twice T.T baju kurung man. so hard to run and shove people.haha. and the tudung sorta acts like a blinder. You know those thingies they put on racing horses so that they won't distracted??

yep, those are the ones.

I will never understand how can people play sports with tudungs. Its like you cant see form left to right or up for that matter. Then like you sweat and run and the tudung just goes crooked and fly all over the place.

Fun la but i remember playing in differently.

i was up all night working on some project. then i went downstairs to sleep on the couch.dont ask me why but i jsut prefer it that way
i came back up to the room after waking, the laptop was unplugged, the roomwas rearranged and my fucking project is GONE!!
they threw every fucking small detail away and didnt bother throwing the bit and pieces of crap left from cutting.
So like I switched the laptop back on, came back for mthe toilet and saw the laptop unplugged again.
WTF OKAY!!!
I WAS UP TILL 5.30AM AND EVERYTHING'S GONE AND I HAVE TO START OVER!!

Fitting in isn't as easy as pie

I miss the primary school days. It was so easy for me to fit in because I was always active and spontaneous with everything.

I brought like this painted wodden egg to school once.

As I grew older, I always hung out with boys. Thats cause I like sports and running around. I dislike the usual girl stuff that they did. Sit together and eat and talk, exchanging this and that with each other, colouring their books. The funniest thing about kids is that they cry at the smallest things.

I came back from recess then I saw these 2 girls like crying. The reason was cause 3 girls were 'suppose' to trade pencilboxes. Two girls agreed and one didn't. WTF. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Another thing is that they always fought to stand infront of the line. And if the girl who stands infront was asked if they could stand behind whoever is asking, she cries. Maybe thats why I never liked kids xD

About the end of primary 6 or about after PSR, discrimination of who can be accepted and who has to be rejected began. Being the tomboy that I was, I wore baggy clothes and was naturally aggressive. I was shunned by the girls because that, maybe. I didn't mind that much cause the girls who outcasted me were a bunch of bitches and they still are up to now.

Overall I'm glad that I hung out with boys when I was a kid before mixing with girls. Cause I got to know what the otherside was like rather than having been a girly girl all my life. I kinda miss being a tomboy though. But I'm also glad that I'm not a lesbian. Maybe bisexual la but not lesbian.

Anyway, I've been in a private school practically all my life. Being in a govt school now is a tough transition for me. I'm a Chinese in a country where the majority are Malays and I've been exposed more differently.

In St. Andrew's (SAS), we were more open with dirty jokes, talking about and educating ourselves about sex and more proactive like going in front of class and giving speeches and stuff.

In PTEM, a govt school, its hard for me to make female friends cause majority of them already have their own friends and lets be honest, reject outsiders. I have to becareful about how far I can take my jokes too cause they may get insulted or disgusted by it. And I feel awkward when girls ask me about sex. I know about it la but like its dangerous to know too much cause false rumours might spread that u did it before or whatever.

I've had my taste of false rumours about me by misinterpretation and its not a place I want to go to again.

You all know this vegetable called Eggplant right??or Brinjil orAubergine and etc u wanna call it.
It's really yummy no doubt but do any of you get like itchiness after a while after eating it cause I do. I went to find out why and they said its something to do with proteins then a bunch of scientific words came out and the only thing I understood was the alphabet xD

another baking venture

I've been craving for cupcakes ever since Ikhwan gave me one of the cupcakes he baked

He told me he got the recipe from the show Nigella Feasts

He said it was easy so I thought I could give it a try.

I only had one big-muffin pan which makes only about 6

So I just used the small ones for bite-size pleasure

You know those hard sugary icing they put on doughnuts which crack once u bite into 'em??

It gives a more delectable appearance to deserts

Baking cakes, cupcakes, muffins and etc yourself is hardwork.

You'll definitely hold a very different attitude when it comes to

eating ur own creation and buying it from a bakery.

Although baking is a great skill if you can master.

However, there's always the downside.

When you bake it yourself, you'll realize the sugar and fat content that goes into making them.

When simply just buying it from a bakery, you don't realize.

But its a good wake up call for people with sugar addiction =p

H1N1 post blog thingy

everyone is going balistic over the rising number of piggy flu cases.

currently Brunei has about 93 cases and a 12 year old girl just died of it yesterday.

My fren told me that her cousin got the swine flu and seriously, the Brunei hospital is just stupid.

She went to check, they asked her to go home and WAIT for the test results. Then called her to say that she was clear and called back again later to say there was a mix up and that she has the virus. WTH!! You told the person to GO HOME and WAIT for the test results??!! And now probably the whole family infected and is now currently quarantined.

tsk tsk tsk... *shakes head*

Another thing, at the airport, if one person is detected to have the virus, he/she is quarantined and not the whole flight's of passengers. And they only check when the person is exiting and right before immigration. Doesn't that mean the virus can be flying all about. PLUS, people who are only of transit flight are not checked. Like how stupid can you get??

Now holidays are extended. We're missing a week's worth of school (its alot for a form 6 student!!) and because one girl died, there is possibility of more extended holidays.
